This policy explains what information ClearPick Digest (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit https://clearpickdigest.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We try to collect as little as we can.

Who is responsible for your data

Information we collect

Information you send us. If you use our contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address and the contents of your message. We use it only to reply and to keep a record of the conversation.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider and the tools we use may log technical data when you load a page, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring page and the date and time of the visit.

Cookies and similar technologies. Cookies are small files stored in your browser. Our theme stores your light or dark display choice in your browser’s local storage. If we use analytics or advertising services, they may set cookies as described below. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will still work.

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information.

  • To understand which articles are useful, using aggregate statistics
  • To respond to messages and requests
  • To track affiliate referrals, which tells us that a purchase came from our link, not who you are
  • To comply with legal obligations

Third-party services

We rely on outside services, and they may process data about your visit under their own privacy policies.

  • Hosting and delivery. The site is served through Cloudflare, which may process visitor IP addresses and technical data to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
  • Email. Messages sent to our addresses are received through Cloudflare Email Routing and delivered to our mailbox, which is provided by Google (Gmail).
  • Contact form. When you submit the contact form, your name, email address and message are sent to Web3Forms (https://web3forms.com), a form processing service, which delivers them to us by email. Web3Forms handles that data under its own privacy policy.
  • Affiliate programs. Some links take you to retailers such as Amazon. When you click an affiliate link, the retailer may set a cookie so the sale can be credited to us. What the retailer does with your data is covered by its own policy.
  • Analytics and advertising. We may add analytics or advertising services in the future. If we do, they may set cookies or collect usage data, and we will update this policy to name them before they are enabled.

We do not sell your personal information.

How long we keep data

We keep emails and contact form messages for as long as needed to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterward. Server and analytics logs are kept for the period set by the provider that collects them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. This includes rights under Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019, and, for visitors in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the GDPR. To make a request, email us at [email protected] with the subject line “Privacy request”. If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to your local data protection authority, such as the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya.

Children

This site is meant for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you think a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Our articles link to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect the site and any information we receive, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

International visitors

The site and the services we use may process data in countries other than your own. By using the site you understand that your information may be transferred to those countries.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
