Readers should know how our content is made. This page explains the standards we aim to meet.
Our goal
To help you make a good buying decision quickly, with clear information and honest trade-offs.
How we choose topics and products
We pick topics based on questions readers actually ask and the problems people commonly have. We choose products to include by looking at manufacturer specifications, published information, retailer listings and customer feedback patterns. We favor products that are widely available and well supported.
What a guide on this site is, and is not
Unless an article says otherwise, our guides are research-based: we compare published specifications and information from reliable sources. We do not claim that we have personally tested a product unless the article clearly says so. When we have tested something ourselves, we say so and describe how.
Independence
- Affiliate commissions do not decide what we recommend. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
- Brands cannot pay for a positive review or a higher ranking.
- If we ever publish sponsored content, it will be clearly labeled.
Accuracy and sources
We check specifications, dimensions, power ratings and other facts against the manufacturer’s information where we can. Prices and availability change quickly, so we avoid quoting exact prices and tell readers to check the retailer. Where a claim depends on a source, we aim to cite or link to it.
Use of technology in our writing
We use AI-assisted tools to help research and draft articles. Articles are reviewed and edited by a person before publication, and the editor, Nicole Rivers, is responsible for what is published.
Corrections and updates
If we publish something wrong, we want to fix it. Please contact us with the page and the correction. We update the article and, for significant changes, note that it was updated. We also revisit older guides when products are discontinued or replaced.
